First Thursday Art Exhibit featuring the works of Ralph Weidling

The May Oklahomans for Equality (OkEq) showcase and exhibit of local artists at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center (621 E. 4th Street in Downtown Tulsa) will feature the works of of Ralph Weidling in an Exhibit Titled “Colors of a Rogue City Resident”, beginning with a reception on Thursday, May 4th from 6-9pm and continuing throughout the month.

27 year old Ralph Weidling was working long hours at an industrial job, when travel and an opportunity combined to re-ignited his creative passion. He has found Tulsa to be the invigorating environment to nurture that creativity through a variety of materials and expressions. His work in metal and glass, wall pieces, free standing works and some even functional art are all coming from a place of optimism and beauty.

His expression in his art is echoed in this written musings. “There’s this beautiful world and its waiting for you… just let it in and let it out. Don’t be shy, let those colors shine bright; it’s going to take a lot of light to win this fight! The beauty & power of the Rogue City … a small blue bubble of Change…. resistance, rising up for the rights & equality for all!! The front lines for the decade long battle of Marriage Equality in Oklahoma that was rightfully won!”

The show begins with a reception on Thursday, May 4th from 6-9pm where there will be a door prize drawn of the artist’s work. The show continues throughout the month. www.okeq.org
